NEW! Premium content for creative solopreneurs
A brand-new feature the author has introduced is the addition of premium content outside the scope of the free newsletter. These posts are for creative business professionals who are interested in the author’s firsthand experience and expert tips about selling books and art, setting up a booth at events, building a brand as a solopreneur, and more.
How is a Substack subscription different from the Patreon community?
Patreon is dedicated to fans of the Chronicles of Avilésor series and Sara A. Noë’s artwork. Three membership tiers are available with various perks allowing fans to read deleted scenes and sneak peeks at WIPs, have their name printed in future books, receive free merchandise and exclusive promo codes, submit questions for author and/or character Q&As, watch art timelapse videos, access unpublished worldbuilding content, gain access to behind-the-scenes glimpses of the writing and publishing process, and more, all while supporting the author with monthly subscriptions that help her cover editing, publishing, and general business expenses.
While Patreon is a fan-centered community, the premium content on Substack is geared toward a base of professional creatives, especially authors and artists, who are primarily interested in networking and building a business with successful in-person events.
Sara has more than 150 events under her belt ranging from book signings to festivals, markets, Comic-Cons, and other conventions as her hobbies have grown into a full-time career. She candidly shares her experiences along with firsthand tips and advice to help other creative solopreneurs avoid some of the pitfalls she encountered and be better prepared to tackle the challenges of scheduling events and turning a profit by selling books and/or art.
Although she touches on some of this information freely on her blog, Substack enables her to take a much deeper dive to a targeted demographic of serious entrepreneurs rather than a general audience. These $5 per month subscriptions help to support her business while opening the door for other creatives to build theirs.
